● Private Hire
Any reason is a good reason.
Birthdays, retirements, send-offs, team nights, celebrations of any kind — the caravan comes to you.
● Overview
What is private hire?
The whole caravan, just for your group. We arrive, set up, run the evening, and pack down — you bring the people. Choose a film, or bring your own footage.

Who books private hire
Birthdays — milestone or otherwise, a genuinely different way to celebrate
Retirements & send-offs — an intimate way to mark a big change
Reunions — family, friends, old workmates
Work celebrations — end-of-year functions, client entertainment, product launches, milestone wins
Just because — sometimes the occasion is simply wanting a great night in
What it looks like
The caravan arrives at your location — your backyard, a venue, your office carpark, wherever suits. We set up fully before your guests arrive. Everyone settles into vintage seating, and the show begins.
We handle everything: setup, pack-down and all AV, plus the film licence if you're choosing a film. You bring your people.
Why people book Mini Cine
It's genuinely different. Not a restaurant, not a bar tab — something your guests haven't done before and will talk about.
It's intimate enough to matter. 13 seats means your group is actually together, not scattered across a large venue.
It's fully managed. One booking, we handle everything else.
It's local. Independent, and built for Taranaki.
For business & teams
Private hire works just as well for work occasions as personal ones. Invoice-friendly billing is available, and every booking is tailored to your group size and occasion.
Before you book
-
We come to you anywhere within 20km of New Plymouth CBD. Further out? Ask us. A travel surcharge applies and we'll quote it.
-
Flat, firm ground with drive-on access for a 17ft caravan (a driveway, paddock or carpark all work)
A standard household power outlet within reach
Ideally wifi, but we may be able to work around it
Not sure your space works? Send us the address or a photo and we'll check.
-
The caravan has one step up (about 40cm), and we provide a step. There's no handrail. If anyone in your group has mobility needs, let us know and we'll talk it through.
